While social media marketing may be a relatively new development, social networks themselves have been around for quite some time, long before sites like Twitter, Facebook and YouTube were even thought of. Contrary to popular belief, social media has a long history, beginning with the very first email sent from one computer to another—even that occasion wasn’t as “glamorous” as many of us think, as the bits of information were exchanged between two computers placed next to each other.
